Hello everyone, my name is Nick Harris, I live in a small coastal town called Swanage on the central southern coast of England.

I'm realy, realy old (62) but still working as a gas engineer, I built my own Guillemot cedar strip yak a couple of years ago, and it's a wonderful boat (well now i've fitted a skeg it is!) bit skitish before.

This winter I'm going to build a Redfish King, great boat.. Enough waffle, good to be here
Nick

Hi Nick,

Welcome to the forum. As you may have figured out by now, it is all but dead here. I'm an English professor in a new job, and I've been so swamped since I began my current position two years ago that my activity on this site has steadily declined to all-but-nothing. My wife and I are also expecting our first child (in about 1 month from now) and so that has kept us busy with all the home-improvement projects we've been wanting to complete before baby comes along.

In any case, I apologize for the tardy reply and the ghost town that the forum has become. I have considered taking down the site altogether since I don't have much time to maintain it now or in the very near future, but for some remarkable reason, it still receives tens of thousands of visits per month, so I'm assuming people still find the information helpful.

Good luck with the Redfish King build... she's a great kayak.

Best,

Wes (Editor)
